Psychological Assessment
Get A Clearer Picture
Sometimes the clearest path forward starts with a clearer understanding of what’s actually happening. Parkhill’s Psychological Assessment team works with both children and adults seeking evaluation for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, or intellectual disability. Using carefully selected, standardized testing tools, our psychologists help individuals and families gain diagnostic clarity — insight that can meaningfully shape treatment, accommodations, and next steps.
Signs an Assessment May Be Helpful
- Ongoing difficulty with attention, focus, or impulsivity at school, work, or home
- Social communication challenges or repetitive behaviors that raise questions about autism spectrum disorder
- Learning or developmental delays that haven't yet been formally evaluated
- A previous informal diagnosis that hasn't been confirmed through structured testing
- Needing documentation for school accommodations, workplace accommodations, or specialized services
- Wanting clarity on what's driving longstanding struggles that other approaches haven't fully addressed
Our Approach
Our psychologists select assessment tools specifically suited to the concerns being evaluated — whether that’s ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or intellectual disability — using standardized, evidence-based measures. The process typically combines structured testing, clinical interviews, and, when relevant, input from parents, teachers, or other caregivers to build a complete picture. Every assessment is approached individually; there is no one-size-fits-all battery of tests.
What to Expect
The process generally begins with an intake session to understand the concerns prompting the evaluation and relevant background history. Testing itself may take place across one or more sessions, depending on the assessments involved. Afterward, your psychologist will review the results with you in detail, providing diagnostic clarity where possible and specific, practical recommendations for treatment, accommodations, or next steps. A written report is typically provided to support school, workplace, or continued care needs.
